Michael M. Lee is a litigation associate in the Los Angeles office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.  He is a member of the firm’s Antitrust, Media and Entertainment, and Transnational Litigation and Foreign Judgments practice groups.

Representative matters in which Mr. Lee has been significantly involved include:

  • Representation of a multinational petroleum corporation in high-stakes proceedings to defend against enforcement of a fraudulently obtained multibillion-dollar environmental judgment in Ecuador. 
  • Representation of a broadcast television network in a 10-day arbitration regarding profit participation rights of a television studio in certain television programs, resulting in a complete victory for the client.
  • Representation of a global semiconductor chip maker corporation in antitrust litigation involving claims arising out of the Sherman Act and of the Federal Trade Commission Act, resulting in settlements of all claims.
  • Representation of a major pizza delivery corporation sued by its franchisees for antitrust violations, breach of contract, and other state law claims, resulting in complete dismissal of the action at the pleading stage. 

Mr. Lee served as a law clerk to The Honorable Gary Allen Feess of the United States District Court for the Central District of California from 2006 to 2007.  He received his law degree in 2006 from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law, where he was elected to Order of the Coif, served as a Senior Editor of the Southern California Law Review, and received the Judge Barry Russell Federal Practice Award for excellence in the field of federal practice.  During law school, Mr. Lee served as a judicial extern to The Honorable Nora M. Manella of the United States District Court for the Central District of California.  In 2003, Mr. Lee graduated magna cum laude from Brigham Young University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and minors in Spanish and Chinese.

Mr. Lee is admitted to practice law in the State of California.  He also currently serves as a board member of the Los Angeles Chapter of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society.
