American Lawyer magazine ranked Gibson Dunn on its 2008 A-List for the third consecutive year. The American Lawyer considers the 20 A-List law firms to be the most elite law firms in the country. The rankings are determined by financial performance, associate satisfaction, commitment to pro bono and diversity.
Corporate Board Member - America's Best Corporate Law Firms
Corporate Board Member magazine ranked Gibson Dunn as the best corporate firm in Los Angeles for a second consecutive year and 13th nationally in its annual survey of America's Best Corporate Law Firms, ranked by more than 400 directors. In a separate survey, the Firm was ranked 10th by more than 200 general counsels when asked to choose the law firms they would most like to have on their side in national matters. BTI Power Rankings: The BTI Client Relationship Scorecard for Law Firms
Gibson Dunn was ranked 10th among the top 20 law firms featured in BTI Power Rankings: The BTI Client Relationship Scorecard for Law Firms 2007. The 20 firms, called the BTI Power Elite, received the highest marks from clients in four areas: whether the firms have established, primary relationships with the clients; are a "go-to" law firm; receive enthusiastic recommendations; and have superior levels of client satisfaction. In compiling its list, BTI surveyed over 400 in-house counsel at major companies.
Chambers & Partners USA: America's Leading Business Lawyers
Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business 2008, an independent and comprehensive research-based directory, awarded Gibson Dunn 111 rankings, with the firm and its attorneys achieving a total of 32 first-tier rankings, 11 of which were firm practice group rankings. National Law Journal - Appellate Hot List
National Law Journal ranked Gibson Dunn as one of the top appellate practices nationally in its inaugural Appellate Hot List. Gibson Dunn was the lead firm profiled in the section and was recognized in the article for its impressive U.S. Supreme Court track record: "Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher's appellate team is on a streak. With warhorse Theodore B. Olson in the lead, the appellate group has won eight of the 11 U.S. Supreme Court cases it has argued during the past three terms." The story noted that behind the firm's successful record is lawyer firepower and tactics, such as looking for yet-unexplored or underdeveloped weaknesses in cases, and stated that "the firm's 31 appellate specialists represent an embarrassment of riches."
The Appellate Hot List recognized 20 law firms with significant appellate victories since January 2007 before the U.S. Supreme Court and lower appellate courts. The feature on Gibson Dunn appeared in the April 7, 2008 issue of National Law Journal, titled "Gibson Dunn keeps its eye on the horizon."

Antitrust Practice Ranked 10th Globally
Global Competition Review ranked Gibson Dunn's antitrust practice 10th in the world in its GCR 20 ranking, a new segment focus on the top 20 leading competition practices globally as part of its annual GCR 100 survey. The GCR 20 ranking is based on five factors: "a firm's standing among its rivals and corporate counsel, as well as the number of nominees to The International Who's Who of Competition Lawyers, size of practice, and stability of its partnership in reflecting its reputation in the market." In Gibson Dunn's profile, GCR highlighted several cases the firm handled, including "arguably the most historic US antitrust case of the year: Leegin Creative Leather Products v. PSKS" before the US Supreme Court.
Securities Law360 - Top 10 Securities Practices
In February 2007, Securities Law360 ranked Gibson Dunn among the nation's top 10 leading securities defense practices. Gibson Dunn was ranked seventh on the list. The rankings are based on the number of securities fraud cases brought in federal courts in 2006.

National Law Journal - 50 Most Influential Minority Lawyers in America The
National Law Journal has named
Debra Wong Yang to its 2008 list of the
50 Most Influential Minority Lawyers in America. The feature recognizes Yang's achievement as the first Asian-American woman appointed to serve as a U.S. Attorney, as well as for her work and leadership at Gibson Dunn and as a member of the Committee of 100, an international organization that aims to strengthen relations between the United States and China. The list appeared in the May 26, 2008 issue.
Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journals - Top IP Lawyers in California
The Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journals have named partners Wayne Barsky and Denis Salmon among the 50 Leading IP Litigators in California. The list was featured in the April 9, 2008 issue.
Human Resource Executive and Lawdragon - Nation's Top 10 Employment Defense Attorneys
Partner William Kilberg was named among the Top 10 employment attorneys in the country by Human Resource Executive magazine and Lawdragon. The ranking was based on key achievements, including 20-plus years of experience and membership in the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, as well as evaluations by peers, clients and judges. The feature, titled "The Best Defense," on the nation's most powerful employment attorneys, is the cover story of the March 2, 2008 issue of Human Resource Executive.
Legal Times - Top Securities Attorneys in D.C.
Partner Brian Lane was named among the seven top securities attorneys in the Washington, D.C. area by Legal Times. The March 24, 2008 article featuring "Washington's elite bar of corporate governance experts" recognized lawyers who "have a particular specialty: They run the kind of internal investigations that earn regulators' good will."
Washingtonian Magazine -- Top Lawyers List
Gibson Dunn partner Theodore B. Olson is ranked as Washington's No. 1 lawyer by Washingtonian magazine. Ten partners also made the magazine's Top Lawyers list in their respective practice areas: Peter Baumbusch, Miguel Estrada, Joseph Kattan, John Olson, Theodore Olson, Arthur Pasternak, Daniel Plaine, Terence Ross, John Sturc, and F. Washington, D.C. partner Eugene Scalia was selected by American Lawyer as one of the 50 leading litigators in the country age 45 or under. The list is featured in the magazine's January 2007 issue.
Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journal - California's Top 100 Lawyers
The Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journals named Ken Doran, Theodore J. Boutrous, Jr. and Maurice Suh to its annual list of California's Top 100 Leading Lawyers, which features lawyers "at the top of their profession and the work they do." The list is featured in the September 20, 2007 issue.
Hollywood Reporter - Power Lawyers
In July 2007, Hollywood Reporter named Scott Edelman, Ruth Fisher and Larry Ulman to its inaugural list of Power Lawyers Top 100 Outside Counsel. Scott was featured in the litigation section, and Ruth and Larry were named to the corporate section.
Denver Business Journal - Top 40 Under 40 Business Leaders
The Denver Business Journal has named Denver of counsel Ashlie Beringer to its 2008 list of Denver's top 40 business leaders under age 40. The 40 rising stars were chosen for their business leadership, recognition of accomplishments and community involvement. The feature appears in the March 7, 2008 issue.
Los Angeles Daily Journal - Top Women Litigators
The Los Angeles Daily Journal named partners Kay Kochenderfer and Marjorie Lewis to its annual list of the Top Women Litigators. Kochenderfer was honored for her skills in the antitrust arena; Lewis was named to the list for her numerous victories on behalf of automakers. Both are profiled in a special supplement in the May 10, 2007 issue of the Los Angeles Daily Journal.

Texas Bar Foundation Fellow
On November 27, 2007, Dallas partner Irwin F. Sentilles III was selected as a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation. Fellows are selected based on professional achievements and dedication to the improvement of the justice system throughout the state of Texas. France's Order of the Legion d'Honneur
New York partner Stephan Haimo has been appointed as a knight in the Order of the Legion d'Honneur in 2007. The Order, conferred by Presidential decree, is France's highest civil and military distinction. Nominated by the French Minister of Foreign Trade, Haimo is receiving the honor in recognition of his 27 years of professional, civil and military service, including his professional achievements as a lawyer, his role in strengthening and promoting strong ties between France and the United States, and his activities on behalf of French companies and non-governmental organizations.

Los Angeles Business Journal has named 11 Gibson Dunn partners as "The Best of the Bar" in its special report on Who's Who in L.A. Law, which appeared in the August 20, 2007 issue. BTI has named Samuel Liversidge and Peter Sullivan to its 2008 Client Service All-Stars list. The BTI Client Service All-Stars feature an exclusive group of148 attorneys from 113 law firms, "an elite group .... singled-out by clients for their unparalleled client service". The All-Stars list was compiled by BTI through interviews with more than 250 corporate counsel at Fortune 1000 companies.
Private Equity International - Top 30 Private Equity Lawyers in the World
Denver partner Beau Stark was named among the 30 most influential lawyers in global private equity by Private Equity International. The list was compiled through extensive interviews with professionals active in private equity around the world and touts dealmakers who have "made it to the peak of their profession." Stark was hailed as "wizard of the legal intricacies involved in (the energy field)," which is the industry that he focuses on, along with technology, construction, and telecommunications.
