E. Michael Greaney, a partner in Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher's New York office, focuses on mergers and acquisitions, corporate securities and general business law matters for private equity and corporate clients. He is a member of the Firm-wide Executive Committee and has served as Co-Partner-In-Charge of the firm's New York office. Mr. Greaney is consistently ranked among the top private equity lawyers. Recently, he appeared in The Expert Guide to the Worlds Leading Private Equity Lawyers for 2007, The Legal 500 US 2008 edition, the International Financial Law Review 2008 and the 2008 and 2009 editions of The Best Lawyers in America.
Mr. Greaney serves as the principal relationship partner for Investcorp, a leading private equity firm, and its portfolio companies, providing advice on a wide variety of matters, including acquisitions, acquisition financings, divestitures, add-on acquisitions, management incentive arrangements, corporate governance and exit transactions (sales, IPOs and recapitalizations). Mr. Greaney also has extensive experience advising other private equity firms, as well as corporate clients, on M&A, securities compliance, corporate governance and other general business law matters.
Mr. Greaney earned his Juris Doctor in 1977 at the University of Southern California School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1974 at Loyola University.
He is admitted to the New York and California bar and is a member of the Federal Regulation of Securities Committee and the Negotiated Acquisitions Committee of the American Bar Association.
