Stephan H. Haimo is a partner in the New York office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, specializing in mergers and acquisitions and private and public equity transactions in the United States and foreign capital markets. He represents corporations and investment funds in acquisitions of publicly and privately held companies, as well as issuers and underwriters in equity and debt securities offerings. He has extensive experience in tender offers, leveraged buy-outs, strategic investments and other corporate finance transactions.
Although Mr. Haimo's practice is predominantly concentrated on transactions in the United States, he is frequently engaged in projects in Europe, Latin America and Asia. These include securities offerings of foreign issuers listed in the United States, as well as international joint ventures and cross-border mergers and acquisitions.
He also counsels several offshore investment funds and international clients with large investments in the United States.
Industries in which Mr. Haimo is actively involved include pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, financial services, consumer products, travel and hospitality.
Mr. Haimo received his Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law in 1984. He also obtained law and doctoral degrees from the University of Paris in 1978 and 1980 and a degree in political science from The Institute of Political Science of Paris in 1977. He has authored a number of articles on securities transactions and has lectured on mergers and acquisitions at New York University's Stern Graduate School of Business. He is a member of the New York bar and the Paris bar.
