I joined our company as general counsel shortly after it had signed a letter giving it the exclusive right to acquire another company headquartered in Luxembourg but with more than 70 subsidiaries and operations in 32 countries.  Gibson Dunn had already been retained as Itron's counsel on the transaction and was beginning the due diligence process.  The firm had assigned two teams to the project--one based in New York and the other in Paris. These two teams worked seamlessly together and with me. Given the complexity of the transaction and the short time frame in which to complete it, I couldn't have been more pleased with the level and frequency of communication, the range of expertise brought to the project (in multiple countries), the quality of work product, and the firm's willingness to manage their costs effectively.  The one distinguishing factor that I particularly liked about the way the firm managed this transaction is that they kept the same team from the start of the project until its completion.
