Litigation Partners Thad Davis and Michael Li-Ming Wong Join Gibson Dunn in San Francisco

Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP is pleased to announce that Thad Davis and Michael Li-Ming Wong have joined the firm’s San Francisco office as partners.  Both were previously with Ropes & Gray.  Davis joins Gibson Dunn as Co-Chair of the Securities Litigation Practice Group, and Wong will serve as Co-Chair of the firm’s Securities Enforcement Group and also be a member of the White Collar Defense and Investigations Group.Davis focuses on complex business litigation, including trial practice across the spectrum of securities, regulatory, M&A, antitrust, data privacy and trade secret matters.  Wong, a former Chief of the White Collar Crimes Section for the U.S.

Lockheed Corporate Counsel Neil Whiteman Joins Gibson Dunn’s D.C. Office

Colorado Trout Unlimited Honors Gibson Dunn with “Trout Conservation Award”

Colorado Trout Unlimited's annual Trout Conservation Award was presented to Gibson Dunn on April 16, recognizing their decade-long effort to protect streamflows on National Forests. For more than a decade, Gibson Dunn has represented CTU and Trout Unlimited in litigation on the issue of “bypass flows” – minimum stream flow requirements below dams and diversions on National Forests.  In 2004, the firm’s long-standing work paid off when a federal district court agreed that the Forest Service has both authority and responsibility to minimize harm to National Forest streams when issuing permits for water projects, something they had not done in issuing an easement for Long Draw with no bypass flow requirements. “Tackling a difficult legal issue through the long and dif
