Accounting Analyst

Based in Los Angeles or Orange County, the Accounting Analyst will be an integral part of the accounting department.
This role reports to the Accounting Project Manager.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting the month-end and year-end close process.
- Analyzing variances of actual financial results to prior periods and budget.
- Performing monthly bank reconciliations.
- Completing property and sales and use tax filings.
- Providing support for financial statement, tax, and compliance audits.
- Assisting with accounts payable processing.
- Performing monthly foreign exchange gain/loss calculations.
- Providing training to end users in the accounting and accounts payable software systems, configuring and testing system updates, and troubleshooting issues.
- Communicating with other departments to obtain information required for accounting analysis.
- Identifying and implementing process improvements proactively.
- Preparing ad-hoc reports and analyses independently.
- Contributing to department and firmwide special projects, collaborating with key personnel in various departments as appropriate.
- Processing firm credit card transactions, including reviewing submissions, ensuring proper coding and documentation, and reconciling statements in accordance with firm policies.
Qualifications

- Must be committed to quality, customer service, teamwork, and supporting department goals.
- Requires strong written and verbal communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Must be able to work with large volumes of data and possess advanced proficiency in Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, and macros).
- Must demonstrate strong technology skills and the ability to master and leverage accounting systems and new technology solutions.
Experience
- A four-year degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field is required.
- One to two years of accounting experience is preferred but not required.
- Experience designing and implementing process improvements preferred.
- Experience with systems such as Chrome River and Aderant is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits:
The annual compensation range for this position is $65-85k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
