Business Development Administrator – Litigation

Based in New York, Washington D.C., Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, or San Francisco, the Business Development Administrator will be responsible for providing administrative, logistical, and organizational support to the U.S. Litigation Business Development team. This role ensures consistency and coordination with the Marketing Department’s additional functional areas, including Transactional Business Development, Communications, Brand, Design, EMEA, Directors and Awards, and Market Intelligence teams.

This role will work closely with the Senior and Associate Directors of the Litigation Business Development team to optimize systems, templates, processes, reporting, and procedures. As needed, the Business Development Administrator will collaborate with practice group teams to assist with key initiatives and business development activities, including events, special projects, bios and marketing collateral updates, directory submissions, market and client research, and client data reports. This role presents a unique opportunity to see how the entire Litigation Business Development team operates while keeping organized and creating efficiencies.

Responsibilities include:

  • Creating, organizing, and coordinating the team’s activity tracking, calendars, meetings, and reporting for submissions, team meetings, ongoing and ad hoc projects, such as website/content refreshes and audits.
  • Data maintenance including pitch reporting and work in our experience database—Foundation, contact and relationship management plus client activity tracking in our CRM system—Interaction, and enhancing our group MSFT Teams channel, iManage folders, and Quick Parts.
  • Assisting in the maintenance of collateral materials, such as attorney biographies, practice area capability statements, and accolades.
  • Maintaining and updating marketing databases (Foundation, Interaction) and trackers (Word, Excel) for mailing lists, contacts, pitches, submissions, marketing materials.
  • Providing logistical and administrative back-end and onsite support for the Litigation Business Development team and client events as needed.
  • Ensuring organized file maintenance in iManage and updating case information in the litigation database.
  • Owning the team calendar and processing related requests and expenses.
  • Conducting research on clients, prospects, industry segments, and competitors.
  • Supporting the development and execution of special business development projects with the Director and Associate Director.

  • Capability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary.

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; additional certifications or coursework in marketing, business, or related fields is a plus.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in professional services, preferably within a law firm or legal department.
  • Experience in supporting business pitches and understanding of legal practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
  • Experience with CRM systems (Interaction) preferred.

Compensation & Benefits:

The annual compensation range for this position is $55-65k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
