Based in California, New York or Washington D.C., the Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, dashboarding and working with cross functional departments to understand and provide tailored solutions to support decision making. This role will focus on data analysis and reporting, data visualization, process improvement, financial performance, data integrity and management, and helping optimize business processes to improve operational efficiency.
This role reports to the Associate Director, Financial Systems.
Responsibilities include:
- Extracting and manipulating large volumes of data from multiple sources to support complex financial analysis.
- Presenting data findings in a clear and understandable way to non-technical stakeholders, such as partners, department heads, and executives.
- Working cross-functionally with different teams (e.g., legal, finance, marketing, HR) to understand data needs and deliver timely insights.
- Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting complex data sets to generate actionable insights.
- Ensuring data accuracy and integrity by performing data validation and cleansing.
- Managing financial data sources and maintaining data documentation.
- Identifying areas of inefficiency or potential risk and recommending improvements.
Qualifications
- Must exhibit strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Information Systems, Finance, Data Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience (2-4 years) as a Business Intelligence Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
- Advanced SQL knowledge and experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) required.
- Strong understanding of business processes in law firms (e.g., billing, financial reporting, client management) is a significant advantage.
- Experience with legal software systems (e.g., time and billing systems, matter management software) highly preferred.
- Familiarity with predictive analytics and machine learning techniques is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits:
The annual compensation range for this position is $100-130k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
