Based in (New York or Los Angeles preferred), Washington, D.C., Dallas, Houston or San Francisco, the litigation client development manager will be responsible for driving the business development and visibility initiatives and priorities for their assigned practices and lawyers. As part of a team, practice group leaders, practice management professionals, and various marketing team members on business development and marketing initiatives to drive the growth of our business and support the lawyers with their marketing initiatives.

For a select group of litigation practices, the client development manager will be responsible for providing guidance and input on the business plan (including target lists, high impact client relationships, publishing and speaking opportunities, and other related initiatives) and drive execution. Along with other team members, the client development manager will lead on related pitches and RFPs ensuring the firm is strategic in its approach and positioning itself to win the work. This role will also work closely with client development colleagues to lead cross-practice initiatives, contribute to team infrastructure and other strategic projects as needed.

 

This role reports to the Client Development Senior Manager.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the overall business development and marketing efforts for assigned practices and/or regions as well as providing support for individual partner business objectives.
  • Drive creation and maintenance of collateral materials, including the creation of bespoke pitch documents, standardized pitch decks, opportunity ready matter lists, matter descriptions and other applicable content.
  • Support related practice and individual lawyer visibility initiatives including conferences, sponsorships, professional association memberships, speaking opportunities and other opportunities.
  • Provide guidance and support to client relationship activities including events, relationship reviews, opportunity spotting and other related efforts.
  • Collaborate with functional managers on relevant visibility and speaking opportunities, communications, recognition, directory participation and digital marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the CRM team, Market intelligence team and Directories team to ensure high quality client data is maintained for relevant deliverables.
  • Manage a direct report and contribute to development and advancement of the early tenure marketing team members.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional professional interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with lawyers at varying levels including firm leadership
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Strong project management and time management skills
  • Solid understanding of the needs and expectations of law firms and the ability to work in an environment with shifting priorities and many constituents
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Exceptional in Microsoft office (Outlook, Excel, Word PowerPoint)
  • Outstanding problem solving skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Occasional travel as needed

Experience

  • University degree
  • 5-7 years of experience in professional services, legal preferred
  • 2+ years of team management experience preferred

Compensation & Benefits:

The annual compensation range for this position is $160-170k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
