Based in New York (preferred), Washington, D.C., Dallas, Houston, San Francisco or Los Angeles, the Corporate Client development Sr. Manager will be responsible for developing and spearheading business development and visibility strategic initiatives and priorities for their corporate practices and lawyers. This role will work closely with practice group leaders, business development and marketing leadership, practice management professionals, various marketing team members and others to create and execute on key initiatives, business plan objectives and general client development support.

For a group of corporate practices, the Corporate Client development Sr. Manager will be responsible for providing strategic guidance on the business plan and related initiatives (including target lists, high impact client relationships, publishing and speaking opportunities, and other related initiatives) and oversee execution. Along with a team of direct reports, the Corporate Client development Sr. Manager will lead on related pitches and RFPs ensuring the firm is strategic in its approach and positioning itself to win the work. This role will also work closely with senior client development colleagues to lead cross-practice initiatives, actively contribute to team infrastructure and other strategic projects as needed.

This role reports to the Director of Client Development.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead the overall strategic business development and marketing efforts for several corporate practices and relevant industries, as well as, providing support for individual partner business objectives.
  • Oversee the preparation of pitches, RFPs (with RFP team) and other client facing materials including: leading strategy sessions, internal debriefs and tracking outcomes with hands on involvement with high profile clients and targets.
  • Oversee the strategy and process of maintaining practice-specific marketing materials and collateral, including deal lists and the collection of relevant matters.
  • Drive the practice’s key client efforts and work with colleagues to ensure the identification, development, and growth of high-value clients.
  • Collaborate with relevant client development managers on relevant visibility and speaking opportunities, communications, recognition, directory participation and digital marketing initiatives.
  • With client development managers and the special events team, plan and oversee the execution of a visibility strategy including: seminars, client facing events and other targeted marketing activities.
  • Proactively drive strategic projects within the Department or Firm as assigned.
  • Manage a team of direct reports and contribute to development and advancement of the broader group.

  • Solid understanding of the needs and expectations of law firms and the ability to work in an environment with shifting priorities and many constituents
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Strong project management and time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a quick paced environment
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary
  • Exceptional in Microsoft office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Outstanding problem solving skills

Experience

  • University degree
  • 10-13 years of experience in professional services, legal preferred
  • 5+ years of team management experience preferred
  • Experience with strategic business development planning and pitching, with transactional knowledge preferred

Compensation & Benefits:

The annual compensation range for this position is $190-210k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
