Gibson Dunn is looking for a Conflicts/New Matters Clerk who will be responsible for working closely with firm attorneys, other Conflicts Clerks, Analysts, and the Intake/Conflicts Manager, as well as other members of the New Business Intake Department.

This position is open to the Los Angeles and San Francisco offices of Gibson Dunn. The standard hours for this position are Tuesday to Saturday, 2:00 pm – 11:00 pm.

The role reports to the Intake/Conflicts Manager.

Responsibilities include:  

  • Review, research and prepare new client/matter conflict reports.
  • Review, research and prepare lateral conflict reports.
  • Input/remove attorney alerts and flags.
  • Review and process new client and matter intake documents.
  • Review and input client and matter information into client/matter database.
  • Review and process client / matter updates including but not limited to matter closures, reactivations, add party requests and relationship partner updates.
  • Heavy data entry.

Qualifications

  • Excellent keyboarding skills, with the ability to type 60 wpm with 95% accuracy.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be extremely detailed oriented, organized and have great follow through skills.
  • Must be able to juggle and prioritize multiple projects.
  • The ability to pay close attention to detail and to carefully follow instructions and adhere to established procedures is critical.
  • Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays based on department needs is required.

Experience

  • 1 year of legal conflicts experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CMS/Aderant a plus.

Compensation & Benefits:
The annual compensation range for this position is $60-80k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
