Based in the Los Angeles or Orange County office, the Human Resources Coordinator will play a pivotal role in supporting and maintaining the firm’s HR processes and initiatives, ensuring standardization and efficiency across various programs and procedures. The role offers the opportunity to handle a broad range of HR responsibilities while ensuring adherence to company policies, legal standards, and best practices.
This role will report to the Assistant Manager, Human Resources.
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinating and supporting the Staff Intro Period, Mid-Year, and Year-End performance evaluation processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of evaluations and related documentation.
- Maintaining and monitoring performance and compensation tracking tools to provide accurate reporting and actionable insights, ensuring staff and supervisors have access to necessary evaluation tools and guidance.
- Drafting and distributing memos for staff status changes, including promotions, title adjustments, and office transfers.
- Preparing and distributing DC Wage Forms annually to ensure compliance with local requirements.
- Coordinating and administering annual, new hire, and on-demand compliance training programs, including harassment avoidance, workplace violence prevention, and other mandatory requirements.
- Acting as the primary liaison with the training vendor to support annual training campaigns and address additional training needs.
- Tracking training program invoices and coordinating their approval to ensure timely processing.
- Facilitating and managing the firm’s bar audit and Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) reporting processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Handling employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex or sensitive matters to appropriate contact.
- Providing guidance and clarification to employees on HR-related topics, including benefits, payroll, and company policies.
- Addressing practical problems, interpreting various instructions provided in written and verbal form, and developing appropriate solutions.
- Performing other related duties as assigned to support the broader Human Resources Department.
Qualifications
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in documentation and processes.
- Capable of maintaining confidence of personal and highly sensitive information.
- Critical thinking and sound judgment with ability to analyse and resolve problems.
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the firm, along with managing productive working relationships.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks and priorities, while meeting deadlines of fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work overtime as necessary.
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field or equivalent relevant work experience required.
- Minimum of three years of work experience in Human Resources department at a law firm or other professional services organization required. Experience managing or supporting compliance training programs and performance evaluation cycles strongly preferred.
- Completion or ongoing pursuit of a Professional Human Resources certification a plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Human Resources, Payroll and Benefits practices and principles. As well as general knowledge of employment laws and regulations and data privacy laws.
- Analytical skills with experience in tracking, reporting, and interpreting performance and compensation data.
- Demonstrated high level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Compensation & Benefits:
The annual compensation range for this position is $70 – 90k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
