Based in any of our US offices, the Legal Project Analyst will support the Firm’s global legal project management (“LPM”) initiatives, work with attorneys and other internal stakeholders to support the broad adoption of legal project management principles, and aid in the efficient management of our legal matters.

This role reports to the Senior Legal Project Manager.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct reporting and analysis to help identify at-risk matters, working closely with the Sr. Legal Project Manager to provide guidance and course correction to the firm’s legal teams.
  • Support large-scale budget monitoring and proactively address budget variances.
  • Support large client portfolio analysis and tracking for some of the Firm’s biggest clients.
  • Support the implementation, use and development of LPM best practices, tools, techniques, and responsibilities across all practice areas.
  • Assist in the development of tools and reports for attorneys to promote lean staffing and to ensure work is on budget.
  • Closely maintain and track the Firm’s alternative fee arrangement matters, highlighting any issues that need partner attention and working closely with the billing department to ensure proper treatment of such matters.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently, juggling priorities, deadlines and essential project management duties for each respective project.
  • Develop appropriate tools and reports with respect to matter work plans, planning and tracking matter timelines, milestones and defining dependencies.
  • Seek out opportunities to improve the Legal Project Management function at the firm.

Qualifications

  • Excellent organization skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel.
  • Highly professional with a strong customer service orientation, commitment to meeting deadlines, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • General understanding of the fundamental elements of legal project management.
  • Strong experience with researching, collecting, manipulating, and analyzing data.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office: PowerPoint, PBI, Excel (i.e. lookups, pivots, etc)
  • Experience with law firm billing systems (Aderant) would be preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have flexibility to work outside scheduled hours as required.

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Minimum 2 years of work in finance or legal industry.
  • Project management experience preferred, or willingness to obtain project management or legal project management certification.

Compensation & Benefits:

The annual compensation range for this position is $70-85k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
