Gibson Dunn is looking for a Litigation Practice Group Manager. The role would cut across and coordinate with professional development, talent management, diversity, recruiting, staffing, and mentoring functions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Practice group management, integration, and staffing.
  • Talent management (including staffing, work allocation, productivity, performance evaluations, engagement, mentoring and integration).
  • Work with recruiting and practice group heads to set hiring projections and assess lateral associate hiring needs.
  • Use data analytics to maximize associate productivity.
  • Work with office and practice leadership to determine how best to get associates back into the office and to manage the hybrid work environment.
  • Work with Professional Development to ensure that our associates are getting the coaching and training they need.

Qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with lawyers, staff and peer administrators across the firm. A strong team player.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle a wide variety of responsibilities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to identify and solve problems, take initiative and work independently under pressure.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Advanced degree preferred – MBA, JD or other equivalent.
  • Minimum five years’ experience that is directly related to the duties or skills described herein, including at least two years’ experience as a manager.
  • Preferred experience in a professional services firm, ideally a law firm.

The annual compensation range for this position is $150K-$250K. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications, location and other operational considerations.
