Based any US office, the Senior Manager will be responsible for leading the firm’s global legal directories submission and awards/recognition strategy and efforts. Focused on process and a wholistic approach, this senior position will be charged with elevating and streamlining our process, determining the global award and legal directory portfolio, and how best to position the firm, practices and lawyers to raise the firm’s profile and increase our win rate.
This role reports to Chief Marketing & Business Development Officer and will work closely with the Sr. Director of Communications, Sr. Director of Brand, the Sr. Directors of Business Development, Practice Leadership and others.
*Please note: The title for this role may be Associate Director or Senior Director, depending on experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities include:
- Creating and leading the global firmwide strategy for awards, recognition, and directories, working closely with Firm Leadership, Practice Group Leaders, Senior Communication Leadership, Practice Group Managers, and relevant Business Development and Communication team members.
- Collaborating with relevant stakeholders to creating and executing a recognition program for each practice in line with strategic priorities.
Directories:
- Leading the firm’s comprehensive submission strategy for all legal directories globally, including (but not limited to) Chambers, Legal 500, IFLR, GCR, GAR, and others, creating a long-term approach to maximize rankings.
- Building and maintaining relationships with applicable directories’ editorial teams and researchers to increase ranking opportunities, staying current on methodology, and improving communication.
- Improving, implementing, and communicating legal directory best practices, including systematic overarching project management, internal communication, and annual training for relevant team members.
- Conducting an annual review of potential directories and categories with relevant business development leadership and practice group leaders.
- Leading a global team of four responsible for driving the legal directory efforts.
- Overseeing result analysis of each publication and identifying areas for improvement and opportunity.
Awards & Recognitions:
- Collaborating with Senior Communication Leadership and leadership on firmwide awards.
- Refining and elevating the awards and recognition process, including best practices.
- Building and managing an award and recognition team.
- Cultivating relationships with various outlets to understand criteria and opportunities.
- Conducting a yearly marketplace audit for new relevant recognition opportunities.
- Overseeing analysis of results and ROI on efforts.

Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree is required.
- 10+ years of experience in professional services, legal preferred.
- 3+ years of management experience.
- Experience in communications, strategic positioning, awards and directories, and team management.

Compensation & Benefits:
The annual compensation range for this position is $190-220k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
