Gibson Dunn seeks a Senior Retirement Plan Analyst for the Benefits Department.  The focus for this position will be monitoring and managing all aspects of benefits retirement administration, while taking on a leadership role.

This position is open to all U.S. office locations of Gibson Dunn.

This role reports to the Benefits Manager.

Responsibilities include:

  • Taking the lead role in administering and maintaining compliance of qualified retirement plans consisting of 401(k), profit sharing, KEOGH and Partners Cash Balance plans; including preparing and completing information for annual plan audit, assist with preparing of Form 5500, and non-discrimination testing
  • Monitoring and managing eligibility requirements to ensure appropriate compliance with plan requirements
  • Managing vendor relationship with outside recordkeeper and retirement plan auditors to ensure compliance, proper service delivery, providing appropriate plan documents, and proper plan notifications and communication
  • Monitoring, analyzing, making recommendations to Retirement Planning Committee and managing updates of new applicable regulations, as necessary
  • Arranging quarterly Retirement Planning Committee meetings, taking accurate minutes, actioning and following up on open items bringing them to closure
  • Managing year-round calendar of retirement / Cash Balance Plan events, including compliance notifications, events and documents
  • Managing and organize large retirement plan meetings, mailings, educational events and dissemination of information
  • Collaborate with various outside vendors and departments within the firm such as finance, HRIS and payroll to ensure system accuracy and compliance
  • Provide exceptional customer services on a daily basis
  • Assisting with administration of employee health and welfare benefits

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to analyze complex data, assure accuracy of data, compilation of data from various sources
  • Strong Accounting, Microsoft Word and Excel skills
  • Experience compiling information related to the preparation of the financial statements
  • Ability to interpret and understand Defined Contribution and Defined Benefit plan documents
  • Strong knowledge of DOL, IRS, and ERISA regulations as it relates to retirement plan governance
  • Manage projects efficiently and timely
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to interact with all levels of personnel
  • Peoplesoft experience desired

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a related discipline such as Business, Finance, or Human Resources; Professional Certifications is a huge plus.
  • 5 + years experience performing Retirement Plan analysis, implementation and administration.

Compensation & Benefits:
The annual compensation range for this position is $89 – 105k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
