Based in Los Angeles, the Trust Accountant will be an integral part of the Finance and Accounting department.

 

This role reports to the Director of Finance.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate with attorneys and various departments to initiate trust account disbursements accurately and in a timely manner
  • Ensure that client trust accounting practices are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Manage accurate records of trust transactions and provide regular updates to attorneys
  • Respond to inquiries from lawyers, staff, and clients regarding trust account transactions and balances
  • Review and maintain trust account documentation, including bank statements, transaction reports, and reconciliation reports
  • Reconcile trust account balances and resolve any discrepancies
  • Implement trust accounting controls

Qualifications

  • Excellent attention to detail and critical thinking skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong project management and time management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a quick paced environment
  • Ability to work overtime as necessary

Experience

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in trust accounting, preferably in a law firm environment
  • Knowledge of trust accounting rules and principles
  • Experience with Aderant Expert

Compensation & Benefits:

The annual compensation range for this position is $70-90k. The salary offered within this range will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
