Chinyere B. Ajanwachuku is a corporate associate in the New York office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher where she currently practices in the firm’s Investment Funds Practice Group.
Ms. Ajanwachuku’s practice focuses on counseling sponsors on the organization and operation of private equity funds including fund-of-funds, buy-out funds and separate managed accounts. In addition, she has worked on a variety of corporate transactional matters, including secondary transactions.
Ms. Ajanwachuku has been recognized as “One to Watch” in Banking and Finance Law by The Best Lawyers in America®.
Ms. Ajanwachuku received her Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center, where she served as the Mentoring & Notes Editor, on The Georgetown Journal of Legal Ethics. She graduated magna cum laude from Hunter College of the City University of New York with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and was awarded departmental honors in economics in recognition of her distinguished academic record. Ms. Ajanwachuku also holds a Master of Arts degree in Economics from Hunter College.
Prior to joining Gibson Dunn, Ms. Ajanwachuku practiced with the firm Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP as a member of the Asset Management – Private Equity Funds Practice from 2013 to 2017.
Ms. Ajanwachuku is admitted to practice in the State of New York.
