Peter Baumann is an associate in the Denver office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. He practices in the firm’s litigation department.
Mr. Baumann graduated magna cum laude and in the top one percent of his class at Georgetown University Law Center in 2017. While at Georgetown he served as Editor-in-Chief of The Georgetown Law Journal and was a member of the school’s moot court team. He also published two student notes on the subjects of institutional liability for campus sexual assault under Title IX and the Eighth Amendment implications of extended wait times for death row inmates.
Prior to law school, Mr. Baumann worked as a communications assistant for a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives and as a public opinion researcher specializing in survey and focus-group research for political and advocacy organizations. He received his B.A. with honors from Middlebury College.
Before joining the firm, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable David M. Ebel of the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
Mr. Baumann is admitted to practice in Colorado and before the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Ninth, Tenth, and Eleventh Circuits.
