Eugene J. Chao is an associate in the Los Angeles office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. He practices in the firm’s Corporate Department.
Mr. Chao has experience in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, technology outsourcing transactions, and finance matters. Mr. Chao serves as a board member in the Los Angeles chapter of the American Constitution Society, and he maintains an active pro bono practice supporting both nonprofit organizations and individuals in immigration matters, as well as various legal clinics.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Chao earned his law degree in 2015 from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law. While in law school, he served on the Executive Committee for the California Law Review, the flagship journal, and he served as Co-Editor-in-Chief for the Asian American Law Journal and Associate Editor for the Berkeley Technology Law Journal. In 2008, he graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Molecular and Cell Biology.
Prior to law school, Mr. Chao was an information technologies specialist for the University of California, Berkeley, and an English teacher in rural Korea and Taiwan.
Mr. Chao is admitted to practice law in the State of California and the United States District Court for the Central District of California.
