Alexis Downe is an associate in the Paris office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP, and a member of the Global Finance and Business Restructuring & Reorganization practice groups.
Alexis Downe specializes in structured finance transactions and complex cross-border debt restructuring transactions. He is also involved in syndicated loans, government guaranteed loans and bond issues. Alexis Downe represents both private and listed companies, senior and junior lenders and borrowers in their significant strategic transactions.
Prior to joining Gibson Dunn, Alexis Downe worked within the Debt Capital Markets department of the Paris office of a magic circle firm, and lectured at the University of Toulouse Capitol I and Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne.
Alexis Downe teaches Contract Law in various Master 2 courses in France and has written several articles in Contract Law, Company Law and Financial Law as well as a monograph on Contract Risk Management in Comparative Law.
Alexis Downe holds a PhD in law from the University Toulouse 1 Capitole and a LL.M. in Corporate and Securities Law from the London School of Economics.
Admitted to the Paris Bar, Alexis Downe is fluent in English and French.
