Alistair Dunstan is an associate in the Singapore office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher and a member of the firm’s Corporate Department and its Energy & Infrastructure, Mergers and Acquisitions and Global Finance Practice Groups. Mr. Dunstan specializes in the energy sector and focuses on project development, acquisitions, commercial supply and project finance in the oil, gas and LNG sectors and the wider energy industry.
Mr. Dunstan has considerable experience in advising international and national oil and gas companies, utility companies, commodity traders, project companies, and financial institutions lending to them, on production sharing contracts, concession agreements, gas and LNG sale and purchase agreements, asset and corporate acquisitions and divestments, upstream and midstream joint venture and operating agreements, trading arrangements, reserves-based lending, and other transactions along the hydrocarbon value chain.
Prior to joining Gibson Dunn, Mr. Dunstan worked in the energy team of a leading international law firm, based in its Singapore office. He has completed secondments at the commodity trading units of JP Morgan Chase Bank, N.A. and Macquarie Bank Limited where he advised on aspects of their EMEA energy operations (including physical gas and power trading).
Mr. Dunstan received his Diploma in Legal Practice (Distinction) from BPP Law School, London, in 2007 and his LL.B. (First Class Honors) from City University, London, in 2006. He recently completed a Master’s degree (Distinction) at King’s College, London, in 2016.
Mr. Dunstan is admitted to practice in England and Wales. He is a member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN).
