BIOGRAPHY

Lutz Englisch is a partner in the Munich office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. He is a member of the firm’s Mergers and Acquisitions, Private Equity and Capital Markets Groups.

Mr. Englisch specializes in M&A (private and public) and corporate law. Since 25 years he gained a distinctive and broad expertise in advising on all aspects of Corporate/M&A matters. He advises many blue chips, (listed) German and foreign companies and PE Funds on domestic and cross-border public and private take-overs including multi-billion (carve-out) deals, as well as on corporate law and corporate governance matters. His stock corporation law practice focuses on executive and supervisory board matters, stockholders meetings and compliance-related matters.

Kanzleimonitor 2021/2022, a study of the German Institute for Legal Departments and Corporate Lawyers (diruj), recommends him for Stock Corporation and Corporate Governance law and M&A.

Mr. Englisch regularly publishes and speaks on corporate law and M&A related matters. Among others, he is co-author of “Hölters/Weber, Kommentar zum Aktiengesetz”, C.H. Beck, Munich (4th edition 2022) and of “Beck’sches Formularbuch GmbH-Recht”, C.H. Beck, Munich (2010).

Prior to joining Gibson Dunn, Mr. Englisch was the Head of Corporate (Germany) at a renowned UK law firm in Munich, and prior thereto, he was Head of Legal Corporate/M&A at a German DAX®-listed company.

Mr. Englisch is a member of the Munich Bar, the German Bar Association and the German In-house Lawyers Association.

He speaks German and English.
