BIOGRAPHY

Philip Hammersley is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.  He practices in the firm’s litigation department.

Before joining the firm, Mr. Hammersley clerked for the Honorable Amul R. Thapar of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the Honorable Patrick J. Schiltz of the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota.

Mr. Hammersley graduated summa cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School.  During law school, he completed a judicial internship with the Honorable Alice M. Batchelder of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.  He also served on the editorial board for the Michigan Law Review and was elected to the Order of the Coif.  In 2015, Mr. Hammersley graduated magna cum laude from Hillsdale College with his bachelor’s degree.

Mr. Hammersley is admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia.
