Dorothee Herrmann is an associate in the Frankfurt office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. She is a member of the firm’s Litigation and White Collar Defense and Investigations Practice Groups.
Ms. Herrmann has experience in various aspects of white collar matters. She represents US and German corporations as well as individuals in cross-border-investigations by US and German authorities. She also counsels clients on general compliance issues, such as implementing proper compliance policies and procedures.
Furthermore, Ms. Herrmann advises clients in various industries on German and European data protection matters in the context of internal investigations, corporate and commercial litigation, and consumer protection proceedings.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Herrmann was a litigation associate in the Frankfurt and Washington, D.C. office of a renowned US law firm. During her six-month secondment in a major international bank, Dr. Herrmann also gained experience working in-house for a large financial institution.
Besides her legal studies, Ms. Herrmann studied business economics at the University of Bayreuth, obtaining an additional degree in business law. After finishing her studies, Ms. Herrmann received her doctor’s degree summa cum laude in 2011 from the University of Frankfurt for her thesis on the European Data Retention Directive and its implementation into German law.
Ms. Herrmann, in addition to her native German, is fluent in English.
