Aquila Maliyekkal is an associate in the Washington, D.C. office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. He is a member of the firm’s Anti-Money Laundering and White Collar Defense and Investigations practice groups.
Aquila earned his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he served as President of the Federalist Society, Managing Editor of the Journal of Law & Politics, and worked as a research assistant for professors Saikrishna Prakash and A.E. Dick Howard. He won the 95th William Minor Lile Moot Court competition and received the Stephen Pierre Traynor Award for best oralist. Aquila also participated in UVA’s Prosecution Clinic and interned for the Honorable Timothy J. Kelly of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.
Before law school, Aquila graduated magna cum laude from the University of Richmond with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Politics, Economics, and Law.
Aquila is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia.
