Michael Marx is Of Counsel in Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher’s Los Angeles office. He is a member of the Firm’s Real Estate Practice Group.
Michael routinely advises and assists borrowers, lenders, private equity firms, high net worth individuals, and other stakeholders with their real estate and business transactions. He has significant experience in negotiating, documenting, and closing joint ventures, acquisitions and dispositions, preferred equity funding, conventional, mezzanine, construction and other forms of financings, loan restructurings and workouts, formation of entities and corporate structures, and asset management arrangements, all involving office, retail, industrial, multifamily, and hotel projects.
During his career, he has either led or actively participated in numerous commercial real estate transactions in the United States, Mexico, Latin America, the Caribbean, and the Middle East with an approximate transaction value of over $6.5 billion.
Prior to joining Gibson Dunn, Michael was a partner at Steckbauer Weinhart, LLP, Of Counsel to Paul Hastings LLP, including as a member of their Hospitality & Leisure Practice Group, Of Counsel to Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP, and a corporate and real estate associate at White & Case LLP.
Michael is a member of the State Bar of California. He graduated first in his class with a B.S. in business finance from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California, and earned a J.D. from the Boalt Hall School of Law at U.C. Berkeley.
