Wayne McArdle is a senior partner in the London office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher and a member of the firm’s Mergers and Acquisitions, Capital Markets, Global Finance, Business Restructuring and Reorganisation, Investment Funds and Real Estate Practice Groups.
Mr. McArdle has advised clients for over 30 years on a wide variety of public and private mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and debt and equity financings. His work encompasses acquisitions, disposals, financings, joint ventures, restructurings and insolvent workouts in Europe, Asia, Africa and North America, in various sectors. Recent transactions include: advising the equity consortium on the sale of Coeur Défense, Paris, including the ‘safeguard’ proceedings on behalf of the borrower, Heart of La Défense S.A.; advising the equity consortium on the sale of Devonshire Place, London, advising on a £700 million sale and leaseback of Spire hospitals in the UK and advising WellTower on the financing of the acquisition of Signature Care Homes.
He has been identified as a recommended lawyer in the field of Private Equity by Best Lawyers International on an annual basis from 2009-2019, by Chambers and Partners UK from 2005-2010, and by Chambers and Partners Global from 2005-2008. Mr. McArdle is on the editorial board and serves as Co-Editor of Business Law Review, a publication of the International Bar Association’s Section on Business Law, and is a member of the Board of Directorsof The University of Western Ontario (UK) Foundation. In addition, Mr. McArdle has been published in the Harvard Law School Forum on Corporate Governance and Financial Regulation. He is also a past Vice-Chair of the Capital Markets Forum.
