Marie-Charlotte Mevel is a French qualified associate in the Paris office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. She is a member of the firm’s Mergers & Acquisitions, Life Sciences and FDA and Healthcare Practice Groups.
Marie-Charlotte Mevel’s practice focuses on complex M&A transactions involving listed and non-listed companies, both domestic and cross-border, including stock and assets sales, group reorganizations and strategic alliances, with a particular focus on regulated industries, over 20 jurisdictions, including emerging markets.
Marie-Charlotte advises industrial companies, insurers and banks, with a particular focus on pharmaceutical and medical device companies, on national and cross-border acquisitions and divestments (share interests, marketed products and manufacturing sites), on joint ventures, strategic partnerships, product development (R&D and clinical trials agreements), strategic collaborations and licenses, industrial agreements (manufacturing and supply agreements), and regulatory matters in connection with M&A transactions in the sector.
Legal 500 EMEA 2018 stated that “associate Marie-Charlotte Mevel plays a key supportive role in the team and is also a key contact.”
Prior to joining Gibson Dunn in 2021, Ms. Mevel had practiced in DLA Piper’s Mergers & Acquisitions department since January 2016. She was seconded from DLA Piper during 4 months in 2020 for Sanofi in the Legal Industrial Affairs department. Marie-Charlotte was also seconded from DLA Piper during 7 months in 2018 for Proparco, Paris (Legal department – Equity investment team), Proparco being a subsidiary of Agence Française de Développement (AFD) focused on supporting the development of businesses or financial institutions across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle-East, notably, by making minority equity investments.
Admitted to the Paris Bar since 2015, Ms. Mevel graduated with honors in 2014 with a Specialized master’s degree in International Business Law and management, ESSEC Business School, after having obtained with honors an advanced master’s degree (Master 2) in Business Law and Business Litigations from Paris X Nanterre University in 2013.
She speaks fluent French and English.
