Sunita Patel is an English and New Zealand-qualified Associate in the London office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.
Ms Patel is a senior associate and a member of the firm’s Dispute Resolution and White Collar Defence and Investigations Groups. She specialises in global white collar investigations and commercial litigation, with experience in a broad range of fields, including financial services, tax and competition law.
Ms. Patel has particular experience of transnational investigations facing regulatory, competition and industry-specific authorities in a number of jurisdictions concurrently, including the Financial Conduct Authority, Competition and Markets Authority, US Department of Justice, Securities and Exchange Commission, and Commodities and Futures Trading Commission. Ms. Patel was heavily involved in the internal investigations in relation to LIBOR and FX, and in advising financial institutions on possible cross-border tax fraud issues.
Most recently in terms of litigation, Ms Patel has assisted in the defence of a large UK retailer in the largest private sector equal pay claim to have been heard by the English courts.
Prior to joining Gibson Dunn, Ms. Patel practiced in the Auckland office of the leading New Zealand law firm, Chapman Tripp, before completing her Masters in Law in New York.
