Ruth M. Porter is an associate in Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher’s Washington, D.C. office. She practices in the firm’s Energy, Regulation and Litigation Department.
Ms. Porter has represented natural gas and oil pipelines and electric utilities in a wide range of litigated matters before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), state public utility commissions, and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. She has also advised natural gas and oil pipelines and electric utilities regarding transactions involving FERC regulated assets. Her recent experience includes:

Ms. Porter earned a Juris Doctor cum laude from the George Washington University Law School in 2008, where she was an Articles Editor of the George Washington Law Review and a Dean’s Legal Research and Writing Fellow. She earned a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, from the George Washington University in 2005.
Ms. Porter is a member of the bars of the District of Columbia and Virginia.
