Ruth M. Porter is an associate in Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher’s Washington, D.C. office. She practices in the firm’s Energy, Regulation and Litigation Department.
Ms. Porter has represented natural gas and oil pipelines and electric utilities in a wide range of litigated matters before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), state public utility commissions, and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Ms. Porter earned a Juris Doctor cum laude from the George Washington University Law School in 2008, where she was an Articles Editor of the George Washington Law Review and a Dean’s Legal Research and Writing Fellow. She earned a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, from the George Washington University in 2005.
