Litigation

BIOGRAPHY

Sophie Schürmann is an associate in the Munich office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. She is a member of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group.

Ms. Schürmann advises clients on German and international commercial arbitration and complex litigation matters.

Ms. Schürmann holds qualifying law degrees from three different European universities. She has studied law at the Humboldt University of Berlin, where she passed her first state examination. Subsequently, she graduated with a Laurea Magistrale in Italian Law from La Sapienza University of Rome. In 2018 she received her Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from King’s College London.

During her legal clerkship she worked for a renowned U.S. law firm in Cologne. She passed her second state examination at the Higher Regional Court, Cologne and has been admitted as a German lawyer (Rechtsanwältin) since 2021.

In addition to her native German, she speaks English, Italian and French.
