Loretta Soffe

Associate Attorney

Loretta Soffe is an associate in the London office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher and a member of the firm’s Antitrust and Competition practice group.

Loretta has broad experience advising on a range of competition issues, including abuse of dominance, merger control and the UK subsidy control regime.

Prior to joining Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, Loretta spent more than four years at the UK competition authority as a Legal Adviser within the legal services department. During this time she advised on a number of Phase 2 merger investigations. This also included working on subsequent litigation challenges before the Competition Appeal Tribunal. In addition, Loretta worked on a number of abuse of dominance investigations under Chapter II of the Competition Act 1998, including both the investigative stages and commitments. She also has experience advising the Subsidy Advice Unit which is part of the UK’s recent subsidy control regime. Whilst at the authority, Loretta advised on consumer law cases, including the drafting of guidance on misleading environmental claims.
