Chelsea Mae Thomas currently practices with the firm’s Litigation Department and is a member of the Privacy, Cybersecurity, and Consumer Protection Practice and White Collar Defense and Investigations Practice Groups. Ms. Thomas’s practice focuses on the representation of corporate clients in internal investigations and government investigations. She has represented multinational companies in technology and privacy-related government and internal investigations, and counseled clients on risk assessment.
Ms. Thomas received her law degree from The University of Michigan Law School, where she was a senior judge for Michigan’s Legal Practice department and an editor for the Environmental and Administrative Law Journal. She authored a student note, under the guidance of Professor Nicholas Bagley, on California laws addressing failure to protect children from witnessing domestic violence. During law school, Ms. Thomas worked as a student attorney in Michigan’s Pediatric Advocacy Clinic as well as an extern for the Family Violence Appellate Project in Oakland, California.
Ms. Thomas is admitted to practice law in California as well as the United States District Court for the Northern District of California.
