Adam L. Yarian is an associate in the Los Angeles office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, where he practices in the firm’s Litigation Department with a focus on labor & employment and intellectual property issues.
Mr. Yarian has successfully represented clients across a broad range of matters in both federal and state courts, including business tort cases, trademark infringement suits, and contractual disputes. Mr. Yarian also represents and advises employers in various aspects of labor and employment law—including investigating and prosecuting trade secret misappropriation and enforcing and defending non-compete and non-solicitation agreements. Mr. Yarian also maintains an active pro bono practice, with a focus on First Amendment issues and defending against SLAPP suits. Mr. Yarian has published on a variety of topics; most recently, he co-authored an article surveying the impact of the landmark Supreme Court trademark decision B & B Hardware v. Hargis Industries, 135 S.Ct. 1293 (2015) (Bloomberg/BNA Patent, Trademark & Copyright Journal), and contributed a chapter on false advertising to a legal treatise entitled Fashion Law and Business: Brands & Retailers (PLI 2013).
Mr. Yarian graduated with honors from the University of Chicago Law School in 2011. During law school, he served on the University of Chicago Legal Forum Journal and provided pro bono legal services to entrepreneurs in inner-city Chicago as a law clerk at the Institute for Justice Entrepreneurship Clinic. He received his Bachelor of Music summa cum laude and with highest departmental honors from the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music, where he was inducted into Phi Kappa Phi.
Mr. Yarian is admitted to practice in the State of California, and before the United States District Courts for the Central and Southern Districts of California. He is a member of both the Association of Business Trial Lawyers and the Federal Bar Association.
