Gibson Dunn Represents German Start-Up

One of the current German Pro Bono projects involves providing legal advice to a newly established start-up named "Tafelhelden" which is part of the funded projects of the long-term pro-bono client "Stiftung der Deutschen Wirtschaft" (SDW). SDW is a non-profit foundation headquartered in Berlin which provides sponsorships and educational services to promising students in connection with their project groups and to disadvantaged young people. The new start up, Tafelhelden, currently still operates on a loose structure and its purpose is to provide assistance to teachers of varying experience levels by offering educational workshops and mentoring and networking programs. Gibson has been asked by the client to assist the Tafelhelden team with the filing of its formal foundation and registration as a charitable association with the German finance authorities. Under the current timeline, it is now envisaged to implement the foundation and registration of the association by the end of the year. Some members of this initiative are Philipp Mangini-Guidano, Martin Schmid, and Birgit Friedl.
