Based in London, the PR Manager will work closely with PR agencies in London and Paris, as well as PR colleagues globally, to develop successful campaigns and respond to media enquiries. Candidates must have the ability to communicate persuasively and concisely, and be able to work both independently and as part of a highly collaborative team. The successful PR Manager will promote our expanded offering by securing strategic media coverage of our Middle East, Asia and pan-European teams.

The role will report to the Director of Brand.

Responsibilities include:

  • Creating and implementing effective PR campaigns for partners and practice groups.
  • Identifying appropriate third-party commentary topics and industry trends to proactively reach out to journalists to secure interview opportunities and media coverage, and place lawyer-written articles at legal, business and industry publications.
  • Drafting firm announcements (e.g. press releases, media pitches, deal announcements, etc.).
  • Using social media to promote firm thought leadership, news and successes.
  • Maintaining strong knowledge of key journalists and publications with established relationships, and help develop and maintain media relationships institutionally.
  • Staying current with industry trends in the legal and communications/media sectors.
  • Assisting with the building and daily maintenance of press office systems and processes, such as researching targeted media lists and managing media database; identifying appropriate opportunities and managing deadlines; drafting and posting media-related content to the firm’s website, intranet and social media; and assisting with tracking press coverage and compiling news clips.

  • Ability to develop strong internal and external relationships, including ability to work effectively with people at all levels.

  • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills.

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in communications, English or journalism.
  • At least five years’ professional experience in communications or public relations.
  • Law firm or professional services experience is preferred.
