Private Equity Mergers and Acquisitions

BIOGRAPHY

Paavni Anand is a corporate associate in the London office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. She is a member of the firm’s Mergers and Acquisitions and Private Equity Practice Groups.

Ms. Anand has a broad range of experience in cross-border M&A and private equity transactions.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Anand worked in the private equity and mergers and acquisitions practice group of a leading Indian law firm.

Ms. Anand earned her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (Hons.) at WB National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata, India in 2017, and her Master of Laws at the University of Chicago Law School in 2022.

Selected experience:*

  • KKR on its acquisition of Clinisupplies, a market leader in continence care products in the UK, from Healthium.
  • L&T on its divestiture to Schneider Electric of its electrical and automation business, in India, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia and UAE ($2bn), by way of a business transfer.
  • TPG, including on its:
    • investment in Jio Platforms ($600mn), which holds India’s largest mobile network operator and Reliance’s digital businesses, as part of the largest series of foreign investments in India of 2020.
    • investment in Reliance Retail Ventures ($200mn), India’s largest retailer by revenue.
    • majority investment and subsequent investment in Fourth Partner Energy, an Indian distributed solar energy company ($85mn).
    • co-investment with Norfund in Fourth Partner Energy ($125mn).
  • Altico Capital, an Indian NBFC advancing loans primarily in the real estate sector, on corporate governance matters, following its default in its borrowings and consequent credit rating downgrade.
