Clémence Pugnet is an associate in the Paris office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, where she serves as member of the firm’s Technology Transactions & Privacy, Cybersecurity and Data Innovation practices.
Clémence assists national and international clients from various industry sectors on complex matters related to data protection, information technology, electronic communications and e-commerce.
She has developed an advanced expertise in a broad range of data protection matters, including in relation to international data transfers, data protection impact assessments and data breach notifications. She regularly drafts privacy policies and cookie policies to cover the data processing conducted on websites and Apps. She also advises companies in the context of investigations and procedures before the French data protection authority.
Clémence also assists clients in their cross border digital projects (e.g., Internet of Things, NFTs, Metaverse), including multijurisdictional surveys across different legal frameworks, in particular in relation to the applicable consumer, contract and data protection rules. She also regularly advises on IT and data privacy aspects of M&A transactions.
Prior to joining Gibson Dunn in July 2018, Clémence worked as an associate in the Telecoms, Media & Technology Department of a major French law firm.
Admitted to the Paris Bar since 2017, she holds a Master’s degree in Business Law and a Master from the Grande École program of EDHEC Business School.
Clémence speaks French and English fluently.
