Theodore Boutrous Named a First Amendment Rights Trailblazer

The National Law Journal named Los Angeles partner Theodore J. Boutrous Jr. among its 2020 First Amendment Rights Trailblazers.  Boutrous was recognized for successfully restoring the White House press passes of CNN chief White House correspondent Jim Acosta and reporter Brian Karem.  The report was published in November 2020.

Theodore J. Boutrous Jr. has extensive experience handling high-profile litigation, media relations and media legal issues.  He routinely advises clients in planning how to respond, and in responding, to crises and other especially significant legal problems that attract the media spotlight.  He received the 2020 Freedom of Press Award from the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press and the Distinguished Leadership Award by PEN America in 2019 for his leadership in advancing rights and protecting freedom of expression.
