SEC Considers Interval Fund Rule Changes,” which is about a potential U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission proposal allowing interval fund sponsors to offer investors monthly liquidity without first seeking permission from the regulator.
Blake mentioned that sponsors want their interval funds to run on the same monthly cadence as the tender offer funds and BDCs they offer through the same wirehouse platforms. “This is viewed as really more modernization…more so than dispensing with investor protections or fundamental components of the rule,” he added.
