Partner Hillary Holmes spoke with Bloomberg Law [PDF] about the unique complexities of leading the SpaceX IPO – the largest IPO in history and one that allowed foreign retail investors early access. Hillary led a team of more than 60 lawyers spanning six regions globally in a deal that required navigating and synchronizing 12 sets of regulations worldwide. She said the mechanics of the deal might be of use to other companies seeking to go public, as it “democratized the IPO around the globe.”
“There is just broadly speaking a lot of interest in innovation and trying out some of the newer structures in the IPO market,” Hillary added.
