Partner and Co-Chair of the Securities Enforcement Practice Group Jina Choi is quoted in CFO Dive’s “SEC Launches New Enforcement Unit Aimed at Accounting Fraud,” which discusses the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission establishing a new enforcement unit focused on pursuing financial reporting and accounting fraud cases. She said she was not surprised by the announcement: “Making sure an issuer’s financial statements are accurate and free from fraud is what investors expect from the SEC. Dedicating resources and expertise to pursue accounting and financial reporting fraud cases is very much in line with back-to-basics enforcement.”
