Based in London, the Senior Analyst, Legal Project Management will be responsible for enhancing our client service delivery, driving operational efficiency, and supporting our legal teams across matters to deliver excellence. This position is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail and a passion for optimizing legal service delivery. They will be instrumental in supporting high-value legal matters, assisting with coordinating resources, tracking and coordinating timelines, and ensuring that matters are completed on time and within scope.

This role reports to the Legal Project Manager.

Responsibilities include:

  • Matter Support & Coordination: Assist with developing and maintaining matter plans, timelines and deliverables. Assist with coordinating resources and tracking progress, ensuring matters are delivered on time and within scope.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Support in collecting, analyzing and interpreting matter data. Prepare regular reports and dashboards for internal and client-facing audiences.
  • Financial Oversight: Support in collecting, analyzing and interpreting matter data, such as matter budgets, costs, and resource utilization to maintain financial oversight and to identify opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Stakeholder Management: Liaise with stakeholders such as legal teams, clients, and third-party vendors, to ensure seamless matter progress and effective communication.
  • Risk Management: Monitor potential risks and escalate as required. Assist with developing risk mitigation strategies to address matter challenges.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Assist with the preparation of regular matter updates, performance metrics, and post-matter analyses to share insights and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Process Optimization: Contribute to identifying opportunities to streamline processes, reduce inefficiencies, and implement best practices in matter management.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with various internal departments such as Finance, Business Development, Technology, and others to ensure effective coordination and alignment on matter requirements, resources, and objectives.
  • Training & Knowledge Sharing: Support training initiatives, maintaining templates and internal team best practices.

Qualifications

  • Resilience: Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
  • Stakeholder Management & Influence: Strong interpersonal skills with experience managing relationships and expectations with various stakeholders, including the ability to influence high-value stakeholders.
  • Excel Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills with a proven ability to analyze data, create financial models, and produce insightful reports.
  • Project Management Skills: Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., MS Project, Asana) is a plus.
  • Skills Advancement: Stay informed on legal project management best practices and contribute to team knowledge sharing and process refinement.

Experience

  • A minimum of three years in matter management within a law firm, with a strong understanding of legal processes, fee structures, and client service expectations.
