Reporting to the Operations Manager working alongside our existing Payroll & Benefits Specialist, serving as a key member of the London HR team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately preparing, analysing, and managing payroll for approximately 400 staff and Attorneys as well as making sure we are offering a competitive, and effective benefits package to the growing London office.

​This position suits an individual who has strong technical expertise with the confidence to ‘front’ the function, drive improvement initiatives and is passionate about providing a high standard of service.

Responsibilities include:

Payroll & Compensation

  • Collaborate with our existing Payroll & Benefits Specialist to ensure timely and accurate monthly payroll processing for the London office.
  • Coordinate with HR to ensure all payroll related data is captured and processed.
  • Reconcile any necessary payroll adjustments, including all applicable benefit deductions.
  • Prepare the required documentation for payroll each month and ensure all data is correct before forwarding it to be processed.
  • Coordinate with external payroll providers/platforms to ensure error free payroll delivery.
  • Maintain up to date documentation of international payroll procedures and records.
  • Provide payroll and benefits data to approved Managers as needed.
  • Stay informed of compensation and benefits updates to ensure payroll accuracy.
  • Respond to employee payroll and benefits inquiries promptly and professionally.

Benefits

  • Collaborate with our existing Payroll & Benefits Specialist to lead the review, renewal, and ongoing management of employee benefits programs.
  • Manage the London benefits administration processes.
  • Coordinate enrollment, including communications, renewals, and plan updates.
  • Develop and distribute benefit orientation materials and employee communications.
  • Work closely with HR to ensure compliance with UK benefits regulations and maintain accurate records.
  • Liaise with brokers and vendors to accurately communicate enrollment changes.
  • Track and reconcile monthly invoices for benefits.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employees regarding benefits, providing guidance, documentation, and issue resolution.

 

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in UK payroll and benefits administration.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK payroll, pensions and benefits legislation.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Confidence when dealing directly with employees and senior stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.

Experience

  • Law firm experience is ideal.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in payroll processing and reporting.
  • Possess an analytical mindset.
  • Experience in running payroll processing for at least 300 – 350 people
  • Must be able to confidently liaise and advise the London office on payroll and Benefits related queries.
