Role Overview

An exciting opportunity to join our growing Real Estate practice in the London office. We are looking to hire an associate with strong transactional experience and a focus on real estate, data centres and digital infrastructure. This role is aimed at ambitious associates looking to build their career within a market-leading platform at the forefront of sophisticated real estate-related transactions including acquisition, disposal, development, letting, and management across various asset classes for some of the world’s most prestigious clients.

Gibson Dunn’s London real estate platform is growing, with the recent arrivals of Chris Slack and Angus Lennox and the pending arrival of James Johnson and Victoria Delacey to further strengthening the firm’s capabilities.

The team brings together real estate, corporate real estate, private equity and investment funds experience, advising on sophisticated UK and cross-border transactions for leading global clients in the sector.

This is an opportunity to join a growing platform in London at an exciting stage as part of a marquee global real estate practice, with exposure to market-leading clients and the most significant transactions in the sector.

Role Requirements & Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will:

  • Ideally be England & Wales qualified
  • Have trained and qualified at a leading international or top-tier law firm
  • Have experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements for leases
  • Preparing and negotiating sale and purchase agreements, transfers, disclosure letters and completion documentation
  • Preparing reports and certificates on title for buyers, funders, investors, tenants and corporate and finance teams
  • Managing large-volume due diligence exercises, including instructing, supervising and quality-checking the work of junior associates and maintaining accurate title and lease schedules
  • Running transactions day to day, including managing timetables, third parties and completion logistics, and keeping clients and partners informed of progress and risk
  • Demonstrate strong transaction management skills, including the ability to effectively delegate to and supervise more junior team members, depending on seniority
  • Demonstrate strong technical legal skills, commercial judgement and attention to detail
  • Be proactive, collaborative and confident working directly with partners, clients and colleagues across practice areas
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with clients, counterparties and internal teams
