Kira Idoko, Formerly with Brookfield Asset Management, Joins Gibson Dunn as an Investment Funds Partner in New York

Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP announced today that Kira Idoko has joined the firm’s Investment Funds Practice Group in the New York office as a partner. Idoko, formerly Senior Vice President, Private Funds at Brookfield Asset Management, will focus her practice on the formation and operation of private funds.

About Kira Idoko

Idoko has significant experience raising large institutional funds, and she will continue to focus her practice on the formation, negotiation and operation of private funds. She has advised on the capital raise or maintenance of real estate, infrastructure, private equity and credit products ranging in value from $200 million to $14 billion, including flagship funds, open-ended funds, private wealth vehicles, and separately managed accounts. She is experienced in all stages of fund formation, including jurisdictional and structuring issues, product development and implementation, regulatory compliance, and operational support.

Before joining Gibson Dunn, Idoko served for seven years as Senior Vice President, Private Funds at Brookfield Asset Management. Previously, she served as Vice President and Assistant General Counsel at Goldman Sachs Asset Management.  Idoko began her legal career at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP.

Idoko graduated from Harvard Law School in 2009 and from Howard University summa cum laude in 2004.
