Sonari Chidi is an associate in the Los Angeles office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher where he practices in the Corporate Department.
He earned his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School where he was a Dean’s Fellow, an Owen J. Roberts Scholar, a Microsoft LMJ Scholar, and a Google LSI Scholar. Sonari holds the Certificate in Management from the Wharton School.
While in law school, he was Executive Editor of the University of Pennsylvania Journal of International Law. Sonari also served as Co-Vice President of the Penn Law Intellectual Property Group, Vice President: Alumni & Industry Affairs of the Penn Entertainment & Sports Law Society, Client Director of the Penn Law Immigrant Rights Project, and Community Service Chair of the Black Law Students Association. He was named to the Pro Bono Honor Roll of the Dauphin County Bar Association.
During law school, Sonari worked at a major technology company as a legal intern. He also worked in M&A, Fund Formation, and Privacy and Data Security as a summer associate at major international law firms.
Sonari graduated summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with his Bachelor of Arts and was awarded the Raymond Pace Alexander Prize, the Arthur Fauset Award, and the Sol Feinstone Award. He was also named a United Nations & MCN Millennium Fellow, a CAMRA Fellow, a Fox Leadership Institute PEACE Fellow, a Moral Voices Fellow, and a Fox Research & Service Fellow. Prior to law school, Mr. Chidi was an award-winning filmmaker and producer.
