Xavier Comaills is a partner in the Paris office of Gibson Dunn and a member of the firm's Investment Funds Practice Group.

Xavier has extensive experience in the formation and fundraising of private equity, infrastructure and private credit funds across European markets, advising both GP-led and LP-led structures. He is a market leader on secondary transactions, including the sale of portfolio interests, GP-led secondary transactions and GP stake sales. He also advises institutional limited partners with respect to their investments in private equity funds, and is an expert on carried interest structuring and the opening-up of capital structure to members of investment teams.

Prior to joining Gibson Dunn, Xavier practiced as a partner for eighteen years at leading international law firms in Paris.

Admitted to the Paris Bar, he graduated from University of Paris I: Panthéon-Sorbonne with a DEA in business law in 1997.

He speaks French and English fluently.
